At six months of age Baron showed only two days and earned 4 points over the weekend with BOB over Specials. At 13 months he showed one more weekend and took another 4 points .
It was at this time that his co-owners, Ted and Pam Pease moved to Hong Kong to build golf courses in China (for the Beijing Olympics) so he returned here to WeatherRun. After some time with Obedience training, puppy sitting and specializing in "Couch Potato 101" he started some field training. This boy was a natural! He's happy -- Loves to run--Loves to Hunt -- is incredibly birdy --- has a classic and very strong point. He earned his Canadian FDJ (Field Dog Junior) in back-to-back weekends (with a handler that knew far less than he did -- me) Later in the Fall he travelled to the US and earned his NRD (Novice Retrieving Dog) for both land and water. After a 2 yr hiatus from the Shows, and right out of the field, he returned in Dec '02 for one day and earned enough points to finish his CH in style.
Next it was off to Obedience training to prepare for his CD and some work at getting steady to wing and shot for his HD (Hunting Dog) title in the Summer/Fall of 2003. Baron earned his FD in back-to-back weekends with a High score in Trial -- At the tests, this boy's style attracts a very interested gallery following him on course.
In 2006 he successfully completed his Navhda Utility Prize 111 -- and Prize 11 in 2007 -- thanks Bert McLeod for your enthusiasm and dedication to this boy's development
